VALLEDUPAR 2026: SITTING VOLLEYBALL MAKES HISTORIC PARA SOUTH AMERICAN GAMES DEBUT
The Sitting Volleyball competition at the Para South American Games Valledupar 2026 came to an end on Tuesday after five days of high-level competition, marking a historic milestone as the sport made its official debut in the event’s program.
The inclusion of Sitting Volleyball in the Para South American Games represents another significant step in the development of the sport across the continent, providing athletes with valuable international competition and strengthening the pathway toward the next major milestones on the international calendar: the Lima 2027 Parapan American Games.

Throughout the tournament, teams from across South America showcased the steady growth of the discipline, demonstrating technical quality, competitiveness, and the increasing depth of the region.
In the men’s tournament, Brazil confirmed its continental dominance by defeating host nation Colombia 3-0 to capture the gold medal. Colombia celebrated a historic silver medal in front of its home crowd, while Argentina secured the bronze after a 3-0 victory over Venezuela.

In the women’s competition, Brazil also claimed the gold medal with a 3-0 victory over Peru in the championship match. Argentina completed the podium after overcoming Venezuela 3-0 to earn the bronze medal.
