With just over one year to go, key details for the Sitting Volleyball competition at the Lima 2027 Parapan American Games have now been confirmed. The tournament will take place from 25 to 29 August 2027 and will feature 12 teams: six men’s and six women’s national teams.

The announcement marks a historic milestone for the sport in the Americas. For the first time in Parapan American Games history, the women’s Sitting Volleyball tournament will feature the same number of participating teams as the men’s competition, reflecting the continued growth of the discipline across the continent.

The qualification process is already underway, with several teams having secured their places. The last spot will be awarded through a final qualification tournament, with additional details to be announced by ParaVolley Pan America in the coming weeks.

The Lima 2027 Parapan American Games will be held from 20 to 29 August 2027, bringing together more than 2,200 Para athletes from over 30 countries across the Americas. The Games will feature 18 Para sports across competition venues in Lima, showcasing the highest level of Paralympic sport in the region.

Sitting Volleyball will once again be one of the continent’s premier team sports, bringing together the top national teams in the Americas to compete for Parapan American medals and continue the sport’s remarkable growth throughout the region.
