STRENGTHENING SITTING VOLLEYBALL IN BOLIVIA
Summary
ParaVolley Pan America President Joe Campbell visited La Paz, Bolivia, alongside national team Head Coach Miguel Florents, to strengthen cooperation and explore new opportunities for the development of Sitting Volleyball.
At ParaVolley Pan America, we continue working to expand the development of Sitting Volleyball across the continent. As part of these efforts, our President, Joe Campbell, visited the La Paz Departmental Sports Service (SEDEDE), accompanied by Miguel Florents, Head Coach of Bolivia’s Sitting Volleyball National Team.
During the visit, they met with SEDEDE Director, Architect Jimena Rodríguez Saavedra, to strengthen cooperation and explore new opportunities for the development of the sport in Bolivia.
The meeting highlighted the progress achieved in the country, which now has a federation affiliated with the international structure, four national championships and its first participation in an international ParaVolley competition.
Bolivia is currently at a turning point in its sporting history following its participation in the 2026 Para South American Games in Valledupar, where Sitting Volleyball made its debut in the event’s program.
As part of the initiative, ten official balls were donated to support the development of the sport. New cooperation opportunities were also discussed, including the possibility of hosting future international competitions in Bolivia.
We thank everyone and every institution that made this meeting possible and continues to contribute to the growth of Sitting Volleyball in Bolivia and throughout the Americas.
