PVPA Members Honored with World ParaVolley’s Lifetime Member Award

The Pan-American ParaVolley community is immensely proud to announce that two of our distinguished members, Joe Campbell and Louise Ashcroft, have been honored with the Lifetime Member Award, the highest accolade bestowed by World ParaVolley. This prestigious award recognizes their extraordinary dedication, service, and leadership in the development and promotion of ParaVolley over the years.
The nomination of Joe Campbell was initiated by Mr. Barry Couzner, whose recommendation was submitted to the current President of World ParaVolley, Lori Okimura, and was subsequently approved by the Board of Directors. Joe expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Couzner for the nomination and to Lori for her unwavering dedication and leadership in facilitating this recognition.
Joe, a cornerstone of the ParaVolley movement in the Pan-American region, reflected on the significance of this moment: “I am deeply honored and humbled to receive such a prestigious award. It has been a privilege to contribute to the growth and success of ParaVolley alongside so many dedicated individuals over the past 35 years. The friendships and experiences I’ve shared with my colleagues, both past and present, have made this journey truly unforgettable.”
Lori Okimura’s work in her role as WPV President was also acknowledged. Joe extended his sincere thanks for her tireless efforts, remarking: “Lori, your commitment and hard work during your time with WPV have been invaluable, and I am truly grateful for your role in making this recognition possible.”
Both Joe Campbell and Louise Ashcroft have significantly shaped the ParaVolley landscape in the Pan-American zone, fostering the sport’s growth and ensuring that athletes and teams have had the best opportunities to compete on the global stage. Their influence has left an indelible mark on the sport, not only in the Americas but internationally.
This award is a testament to their passion, vision, and countless contributions to the ParaVolley community. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the lasting impact they continue to make.
