PVPA President Joe Campbell talks about the inaugural WORLD PARAVOLLEY (WPV) DAY and Awards

It is my pleasure to announce April 24, 2020 as the inaugural WORLD PARAVOLLEY (WPV) DAY.  WPV Board of Directors voted to make April 24 an annual date to recognize World ParaVolley each year from here on.

Today we also want to recognize 40 years of Sitting Volleyball being a sport in the Paralympic Games.  In doing this, WPV established a Sitting History Awards committee to recognize the hard work and achievements of our athletes, coaches, referees, classifiers, technical officials, and administrators (governance). 110 certificates have been issued.  Congratulations to each of these recipients. To see all recipients, click on the following link: http://www.worldparavolley.org/2020-world-paravolley-awards/#PosthumousAwards

Spread the word and let others know that today is World ParaVolley day.  Take a moment and visit the World ParaVolley website (www.worldparavolley.org) and read about what is happening around the world.  I would also encourage you to visit the Pan America website (http://paravolleypanam.com)  and see detailed information for the Pan America Zone.

As you know we are living in unprecedented times right now with the COVID-19.  Our lives have been totally turned upside down.  I want to personally wish each of you all the best and ask you to please stay safe.  We will get over this virus, and I look forward to seeing you at a sitting or Para beach competition soon.

Best regards,

Joe Campbell – PVPA President
